travel diary // Kuala Lumpur day four

January 9, 2014

By the fourth and last day in KL, I was already coming down with a fever.. I felt so lethargic, all I wanted to do was stay in bed until our check-out time. But I knew we had limited time before our flight back to Manila to buy souvenirs for everyone back at home, so I dragged myself out of bed and pushed myself out the door. Aian and I went to Central Market in Pasar Seni, which is a popular place for buying souvenirs. Took lots of photos as well. Enjoy!

Bags packed and ready! I had a hard time packing all of Aian's books, haha! We had to make enough room for souvenirs as well.

Central Market was in Pasar Seni, only one station away from ours, so we had no problems getting there.

Really nice graffiti outside Pasar Seni station.

Central Market!

Souvenir heaven! Going to Central Market was actually a last-minute decision.. A couple of nights before, when we got back to the hotel from KLCC, I realized that there weren't a lot of souvenir shops in any of the malls we went to (Times Square Berjaya, Publika, Suria). There were kiosks and such, but most of them were only selling miniature versions of the Twin Towers.. and pricey ones, at that. I checked on my phone for places to go to for souvenirs, and came up with Central Market.

Aside from Malaysia-themed souvenirs, there were also a variety of other things.There was an area for Indian and Chinese novelty items as well.

This one stall we went to was really eerie-looking. Masks and dolls everywheeere.

I read about this place online as well.. My cousin who's been to Malaysia before told me that the chocolate she got from her trip was really good. She asked me to get her some, but she forgot the name, so I had to ask Google where I could get them. I read from a travel blog that the chocolates from here were really good and quite affordable, so we went and bought some before leaving. We bought about six jars, I think lololol. They were really good! I wish we'd bought more v____v

Doctor Fish spa! Aian's always wanted to try this out, but found the fish we have in local fish spas too tiny. He really liked this one, haha! I was surprised to see such huge fish in a fish spa * A * I think if we had more time he'd have spent more than just 15 minutes in there, haha! I couldn't try it because I had stockings on ;;

More more more souvenirs! All the colors are just so pretty!

Before heading back to the hotel, we looked around Pasar Seni for spices we could bring back home, as one of our friends asked us to buy some for him. We couldn't find any in the markets, but luckily a Chinese grandma took the time to help us find them. (Thank you, awesome Chinese grandma!)

After shopping for souvenirs, we went back to our hotel room to drop off the stuff we bought, then went out to have our last lunch in KL before heading home. We had it at the Chinese place we went to before, which is, safe to say, our new go-to place whenever we'll be in the area. Had three-layer tea for my last day in KL!

Our hotel and the buildings around it. Seems like I was really lucky with the hotel that I chose! The room we got was nice and clean, service is good too. It was pretty good for a two-star hotel. Also, the area is quite accessible, with lots of food choices around. Definitely choosing this place again next time.

Aaand one last GIF of us on the plane! Goodbye, Kuala Lumpur! We'll be back~!

That's the last of my Kuala Lumpur travel diary! I am so, so grateful to everyone who made the trip so very memorable. (Mieko, especially! Aian and I wouldn't have survived those four days without all your help! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! We'll make sure to come back for Comic Fiesta this year as well, so Aian and I will be in your care again then, ehehe ♥) This trip has only made me realize even more that the world outside is vast and endless, and you can only experience so much when you stay in one place. The world is amazing. With this new-found curiosity, I cannot wait to go on even more adventures this 2014! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Travel. As much as you can. As far as you can. As long as you can. Life's not meant to be lived in one place.
