life lately: updates, acquisitions, important life decisions

July 6, 2013

Hi everyone! Finally back after a tiny break from blogging. Well, not that I decided to take one.. more of a forced leave of sorts, I guess? Haha. If you follow me on Twitter then you might already know the reason for my sudden inactivity.

A few months ago my shoulder started hurting whenever I did any strenuous activity.. well actually, even just putting on a T-shirt made it hurt quite a bit. It wasn't very painful.. On a scale of 1 to 10, it was a 6. It was more bothersome than it was painful. Sometime last month I was finally brought to a local hospital to have it checked. (The reason why I didn't have it checked earlier.. I have a bit of an aversion towards hospitals, heh.) Turns out I had tendinitis.. and what seemed like early signs of tendinosis. Yikes. Luckily though, I was told that it could be corrected with muscle strengthening exercises and over-the-counter medication. I was prescribed some analgesics and was told to undergo physical therapy sessions.. for six days. Six days! Thrice a week for two weeks. It felt much longer than that though!

Like I said, if you follow me on Twitter you should already know most of this. I've had a lot of people asking me about it, actually. I'm perfectly fine though! It's not anything serious, thank God. I actually just "graduated" from the program yesterday, so now all I have to do is continue the exercises at home until my shoulder's back to normal. To those who asked if I were doing okay during that time on Twitter and on Facebook, I really appreciated the concern. Thank you!

On a much lighter note, I was -finally- able to visit the mall during my visits to the hospital. (Because I'd been so busy, I didn't have time to even leave the house.) After I finished with my PT sessions, Aian and I would have lunch at SM MoA, which was only a jeepney ride away, so I had time (and an excuse) to pick up a few necessities..

Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Autumn Breeze + Maybelline Super Mineral 24 Foundation, both from Watson's

Super cute pastel ankle socks from Topshop

The girliest pair of heels c/o

Okay, so I admit, the only thing above that was an actual necessity was the foundation, but that's because I didn't bother to take photos of all the other stuff (a new towel, a hairband for my bangs, wet wipes, cotton pads, contact lens fluid, meds for my shoulder). Also, I cheated by adding a photo of my new shoes, which I didn't really buy in the first place. I just put them there because they look so pretty in that photo, haha. I've been getting a few questions about the new foundation.. I can't really say if I like it or not yet. My skin's not really in its best condition, so I can't give you guys a decent review yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks. The lipstick, I really like. I found out about it on my friend Maronne's blog a few weeks back and I thought I'd pick one up while I was out. The color's really good, but the bad thing about it is that the packaging is super cheap! The quality of the packaging was so bad that it actually broke the moment I swiped it on my lips wtf. Can't really complain much since it cost me only Php150.. but still! I should've just bought a frappe with that money if I'd known that it was going to break so easily. I tried putting it back together but I'm not sure if it worked.. so if it breaks again I might have to just transfer it to a pot next time, sigh.

Lastly! This is something I'm very excited about.. my application to J-MELO's Fan Meeting in Manila with Joe Inoue was approved, yay!! J-MELO is a weekly television program by NHK about Japanese music, broadcasted in English. Last month they started accepting applications from people who wanted to watch the show live, and mine was accepted! I screamed a little when I read the mail. So happy!! Now I hope I don't act like a dork or anything if I do get asked any questions. The invite says "Don't be shy!" after all.. so hopefully I won't be such an awkward penguin! (>//w//<) I know you're all thinking that this isn't such a huge deal, but ah, it's my chance to tell the GazettE how much I love them and how much they've helped me change bit by bit.. so I'm very happy. To not lose sight of my goal, I watch their lives almost every day. Seeing them do what they love doing and working hard at it inspires me to go on. It's true! Buuut, I should probably stop here before I turn into Creeper-chan McCreepypants. I'm very excited though! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ♡♡
