review // GEO Starmish Brown *

April 1, 2013

Hello everyone! It's been a looong time since I last reviewed contact lenses. I've actually had this pair for quite some time, sent to me by EyeCandy's along with a box of falsies (which I will review soon as well), but I kept putting off taking photos. My brother borrowed Reimei (my other dSLR, 400D) a couple of months back and I haven't been able to get him back yet. It's much easier to take photos of my face with Reimei, so I thought I'd wait til I get him back, but since it doesn't seem like that's happening anytime soon, I went ahead and took photos with Ryuusei (5DMkI) instead. Anyway~! Today, the lenses I'll be reviewing are a fairly new design from the GEO Princess Mimi series, they're called Starmish Brown lenses ♥

This particular series is produced by Mai Hirose, a gyaru model and part of the current Popteen roster. There are only two colors, brown and black. I'm not really a fan of black lenses, so I chose the brown one instead.

The lenses in the case.

Full face, with makeup and all. I don't know why, but these lenses seem to give off a mature look.

Up close.

All photos taken under natural light, as I don't have my other camera with me. Ryuusei doesn't have built-in flash.

Natural light, indoors.
I really like the color of these lenses. Most brown lenses tend to be too dark that it looks black, or too light that it looks yellow. These are just the right shade of brown for me. Also, the color is quite opaque so you can still see the design even on dark brown eyes like mine. I really like the design as well, it's almost natural but still eye-catching. The only thing I don't like is that the pupil hole is a bit too defined, I would've liked it to have a sort of gradation towards the middle so that it blends in more naturally.

Though not as enlarging as other lenses, these still give the effect of bigger eyes without looking too alienish. Though I usually prefer bigger lenses (15mm), I personally like the size for this design.

COMFORT: ★★★★★
As with all of my GEO lenses, no problems at all! Super comfortable.

OVERALL: ★★★★☆
Four out of five stars. These are lovely lenses; they look nice both up close and far away. They're perfect if you want natural yet eye-catching lenses. These are nice for more mature makeup looks as well.

A few reminders:
☆ You are best advised to consult your eye doctor before wearing any lenses. It is your responsibility to minimize the risk of wearing lenses. Kindly please read the wear & care guide carefully to ensure proper handling of lenses. The rule of thumb for lenses is: if you experience any discomfort, remove the lens immediately.
☆ Though the lenses in this review were sponsored by EyeCandy's, everything written here is 100% my honest opinion.
☆ All photos used in this review belong to me. Please do not take them without my permission!!

Would you like me to review a different color from this series of lenses? Or would you like me to review a specific design? Do let me know in the comments :) Up next in my review list are Magic Magic falsies, also from EyeCandy's, and another pair of contacts, GEO Super Angel Brown from Lens Village. Please do watch out for them
