PAUL & JOE BEAUTE is a cosmetics line created by the woman behind the Paul & Joe brand herself, Sophie Mechaly. The concept behind it is "Cosmetics that convey perfectly the Parisian philosophy of enjoying life." It projects a lifestyle that brims over with a sense of happiness and well-being. The brand is very popular among women in Japan because of how well it delivers, in terms of both quality and design. The overall concept of all of their designs is retro modern chic. It's quite cute, but with a hint of quirkiness.
Every season, Paul & Joe releases a limited edition collection called "Collection Sparkles" which is a cross between the Paul & Joe fashion line and the Beaute line. These limited edition items come in unique packaging decorated with the signature pattern from that season's fashion line. When they released last year's S/S line, "Meow!," I thought they wouldn't be able to top it but I think they might have! Check out the new S/S collection, Carousel, featuring cute nostalgic designs inspired by Parisian carousels.
Carousels form part of the landscape of Paris, making the street corners come alive with color. This season, revisit childhood memories of bobbing up and down atop a wooden horse as it carries you gently through the warm spring air. Remember how it made your heart pound?
This year’s Spring Collection is colorful and nostalgic: sweet innocence wrapped up in a beautiful bow of past indulgences.
Just like a carousel, from the very first glance these invoke the spirit of wonderland. Sweet, nostalgic pastels reminiscent of the colors of an erstwhile carousel. Playful, colorful spring makeup that will make you dizzy with delight.
So much cuteness, I die! Personal picks: the Pressed Powder Swirl, Eye Color in Calliope, and Cheek Colors in Cinema and Peaches and Cream. I also really like Merry-Go-Round from the Lip Color Collection Sparkles, but it's a bit too similar to my TonyMoly CatChu Wink Lipstick, so I think I'll have to pass on that one. How about you, are you eyeing any of these yet? These cost a pretty penny for sure, but for the packaging alone I'd be willing to splurge on at least one thing from the collection.. that is, if I can choose just one ♥
