Purchases and gifts received for the month of July. Cute hand-me-down flats, cheap falsies and lace socks from Japan Home Center / Daiso, printed tights from Accessorize, contact lenses (which I will be giving away soon!) and Prettia Milk Tea Brown Dye from Dull to Doll, wig from KrisAlice Cosplay Shop, lovely clothes from Asian iCandy, and shoes from OASAP. Happy with this month's acquisitions! :)
Some of you might already know this, but a couple of weeks ago I started taking picture requests on Tumblr. I asked my followers to ask me to take a picture of any aspect of my life that they're interested in, and in turn I would take a photo and post it on my blog. I initially intended to post at least 5-10 requests at a time, but because it took me more than 10 photos just for this one request, I'm posting this one first.
The request (which, by the way, was my favorite from the bunch) was from Allysa, who asked me to take a photo of the books I own. When I saw the request on my ask box I initially thought, "Oh, okay, piece of cake!" And then I suddenly realized that I had a mountain of books scattered all over my room, which meant I couldn't just take a picture, I had to take pictures. I had a lot of fun doing this though! * u *
Haruki Murakami paperbacks, all with covers by John Gall. I actually had three more books by Murakami: Norwegian Wood, Hard-Boiled Wonderland, and Birthday Stories. The first two I sold because I found the ones with the John Gall covers much more appealing, so I decided to collect those instead. The third one I gave to someone for her birthday.
Kafka on the Shore, the latest addition to my collection.
The Sandman 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9. My babies! I love Neil Gaiman to death. I actually managed to get #7 signed during the last time he was in Manila. I also have Death: The High Cost of Living and a hardbound copy of Coraline, but I lent them to a couple of friends and haven't gotten them back yet.
My favorite magazines and a black-and-white artbook by kidchan, one of my favorite artists.
Books and manga currently staying with Aian. My copy of Sandman: Dream Hunters is also signed. Neil wrote, "Chai- Dream!"
A few more of my books lying around my room..
And last but not least, Japanese fashion magazines! Popteen, KERA, and Gothic&Lolita Bible. KERA is my favorite, obviously, but I want to start collecting Zipper and Papier as well. I left all of these over at Aian's place because he uses them for references.
That's about it. I have a lot more at home, but I only included the ones that I really like and re-read from time to time. I never realized I have so many books missing until I did this request. When I was still in high school, I didn't care much for clothes because I wore a uniform every day. All I ever spent on was books, so I accumulated a lot of them over the years. I have no idea why I've never seen any of those books during the past three or four years. I don't think such a huge number of books can just magically vanish into thin air.. so I wonder where they all went. I hope they all return to me soon.
